Our Lady's Medjugorje Message of February 25, 2010

Dear children!

In this time of grace, when nature also prepares to give the most beautiful colours of the year, I call you, little children, to open your hearts to God the Creator for him to transform and mould you in his image, so that all the good which has fallen asleep in your hearts may awaken to a new life and a longing towards eternity. Thank you for having responded to my call. February 25, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DKeZMrO09k&feature=player_embedded# Video by Pilgrim

Dear Children, Today I invite You.

DEAR FAMILY OF MARY!
Recently, I was reviewing some of the early messages that were given through the locutionist, Jelena Vasilj. She was just a little girl when Our Lady began to speak to her and to guide the prayer group of young people in Medjugorje through her. Let me share this amazing message, given on July 30, 1987.

"Dear children, today I invite you in a special way to pray for the plans of God to be fulfilled: first of all with you, then with this parish which God himself has chosen. Dear children, to be chosen by God is really something great, but it is also a responsibility for you to pray more, for you, the chosen ones, to encourage others so you can be a light for people in darkness.

"Children, darkness reigns over the whole world. People are attracted by many things and they forget about the more important.

"Light won't reign in the world until people accept Jesus, until they live His words, which is the Word of the Gospel.

"Dear children, this is the reason for my presence among you for such a long time: to lead you on the path of Jesus. I want to save you and, through you, to save the whole world. Many people now live without faith; some don't even want to hear about Jesus, but they still want peace and satisfaction! Children, here is the reason why I need your prayer: prayer is the only way to save the human race.

"This message captures the essence of Our Lady's plan through Medjugorje. She has come to save the whole world. She has chosen 6 visionaries and 2 locutionists, a parish, a village, and a large number of pilgrims to become her prayer warriors in this bold plan to save the whole world. Our part, as prayer warriors, is to pray, pray, pray, for she says: "Prayer is the only way to save the human race." Prayer is the only way to save the human race! Prayer is the only way to save the human race!!!

Are we responding to her call? Are we praying with her for the whole world? Are we praying with her at all? During this Lent may we return to this call, to this holy task she has given us. May we make prayer our life. As she said to us also in July of 1987:

"O children! I want you to live each new day with love and peace. I want you to be carriers of peace and love. People need so much those graces of peace and love, but they have lost them because they don't pray!

Create in your hearts a permanent prayer, because only thus will you be able to be prepared vessels. Through prayer your Father will build you into the vessels He wants. For this abandon yourselves completely to Him." (July 11, 1987 Jelena)In Jesus and Mary! Cathy Nolan© Mary TV 2010

Who loves me..? asks Jesus.

“Who loves me?”asks Jesus.“He who listens to my Word, retains it in his heart and lives it. It is he who loves me.
.
”The same rule applies to Our Lady. Who loves Our Lady? The one who listens to her messages and lives them. It is he who loves her.

Body of Christ Prayer Meeting.

Body of Christ Prayer Meeting
Saint Charles Church, Providence, Rhode Island
With Fr. John Randall

Prophecies Received 2/11/2010
“My Little Ones, do not give up. Hold on to your faith. For you are right at the door. The door has been unlocked and soon it will open to allow my faithful ones to enter into My kingdom, then you will understand that this journey through life on earth was necessary. Because I love you so much and I wanted you to be with Me. You will understand why I allowed you to suffer to stumble and to experience the terror of this world, so that when you come into My Kingdom you will rejoice all the more, and you will take your place at My side and make it your home for all eternity. I know that you wonder and worry about your loved ones whether they will enter into My kingdom. I tell you do not worry for your prayers are far more powerful than you think. Don’t you know that you have come into the inheritance because someone somewhere was praying for you?”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My children, this is an urgent call for you to take this Lent very seriously. Your prayers, fasting and sacrifices are needed because your country is in great danger. You have no idea what will befall your nation. I have held back the hand of my beloved Son for a long time, but am no longer able to hold back His anger, for the sins of your nation are greater than those of Sodom and Gomorrah. Many lives depend on your intercession and sacrifice this Lent. Don’t be lukewarm, take this time offered to you very very seriously.”

Dear Children

Message of January 25, 2008 "

Dear children! With the time of Lent, you are approaching a time of grace. Your heart is like ploughed soil and it is ready to receive the fruit which will grow into what is good. You, little dhildren, are free to choose good or evil.
Therefore, I call you to pray and fast. Plant joy and the fruit of joy will grow in your hearts for your good, and others will see it and receive it through your life.
Renounce sin and choose eternal life. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son. Thank you for having responded to my call."

What Pro-Choice Really Means

CHOOSING AND LOSING

"Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live, by loving the Lord, your God, heeding His voice, and holding fast to Him." —Deuteronomy 30:19-20"

Pro-choice" today means choosing to do what you want, even to the point of violating the rights of babies by killing them through abortion. "Pro-choice" means you choose to deprive babies of all choices, even the choice to live.

However, the Lord commands us to choose life, not selfishness and the deaths of others. We choose life by choosing obedience to the Lord. Ultimately, we choose life by choosing to lose our lives (Lk 9:24), that is, to deny ourselves, take up Jesus' cross each day, and follow in His steps (Lk 9:23). Thus, Jesus chose life by choosing to obey His Father and die on the cross for love of us. God understands "pro-choice" to mean obedience, not selfishness, and dying to self rather than taking the lives of others.

Are we "pro-choice" according to Planned Parenthood's propaganda or according to God's word? Even if we have never had an abortion or participated in one, we can be the "pro-choice" of Planned Parenthood if we're not obeying the Lord and denying ourselves. If we are not following the crucified Jesus, we may be unknowingly following the spirit of Planned Parenthood. Choose Jesus, Who is Life (Jn 14:6). Father, by Your grace I choose life, obedience, dying to self, the cross, and Jesus.
.
***Dear children, God created you with free will to comprehend and to choose: Life or Death. I as a mother, with motherly love, desire to help you to comprehend and to choose life. My children, do not deceive yourselves with false peace and false joy. Permit me, my children, to show you the true way, the way that leads to life – my Son.-- Thank you.-- Our Lady's Medjugorje message, of July 2, 2006.

In Memory of the Murdered Priests from the Parish of Medjugorje.

Holy Mass celebrated in memory of murdered priests from Medjugorje Parish.

On the day when we remember beatified Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, February 10, we prayed in Međugorje parish for all murdered Franciscans who were born in Međugorje parish: Fr. Križan Galić, Fr. Jozo Bencun, Fr. Marko Dragičević, Fr. Mariofil Sivrić, Fr. Grgo Vasilj and Fr. Jenko Vasilj, who were amongst those 66 priests from Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, brutally murdered by Partisans during the II World War and at the very end of the same war.

Fr. Karlo Lovrić celebrated Holy Mass at 6 p.m. in parish church of St. James, and there were also ten other priests that concelebrated with him. Parish priest, Fr. Petar Vlašić spoke before the Holy Mass and said that there isn’t a single family in Međugorje parish that did not have at least one person killed during that period. Fr. Karlo, in his homily, said amongst the other things, the following: “We should be praying for them, but at the same time, we should be praying to them. They were not frightened, they did not deny our Church, and on the contrary, they gave their lives for Jesus and for their country. We thank them for that!” (photos)

Now is the day of Salvation

NOW, NOW, NOW"

Even now, says the Lord, return to Me with your whole heart, with fasting, and weeping, and mourning; rend your hearts." —Joel 2:12-13The first words of the Lenten Scripture readings are "even now" (Jl 2:12).

The people of Joel's time had undergone a catastrophe, but even after this tragedy they had a "now" when they could return to the Lord with their whole heart (Jl 2:12). No matter how bad the past has been or how fearsome the future may be, "now is the acceptable time!" (2 Cor 6:2)

Thank God for the "now." We may be on our way to hell, but now we can repent. We may harbor hatred and unforgiveness in our hearts, but now we have the opportunity to change all that. While we are on this earth, every "now" means there is hope.

Eventually, each one of us will face a moment of decision, a "now or never." This will be our last "now" on earth, our last opportunity to repent of sin and to love Jesus with all our heart. After this final "now," there will be no reason to hope. We will have either perfect, eternal happiness or eternal damnation.
.
Thus, we see how precious are the "now," the "even now," and the "now or never." We see how priceless are the gifts of Ash Wednesday, Lent, and this present moment on the way to eternity. Therefore, "delay not to forsake sins" (Sir 18:21). "Delay not your conversion to the Lord, put it not off from day to day" (Sir 5:8). "Now is the day of salvation!" Father, may I live this day as if it were my last.

Looking For Signs

LOOKING FOR A SIGN?" [The Pharisees] were looking for some heavenly sign from Him as a test. With a sigh from the depths of His spirit He said, 'Why does this age seek a sign? I assure you, no such sign will be given it!' " —Mark 8:11-12

Do you need a sign from God to believe in His power and love? Well, then, despite not giving the Pharisees of His time a sign, the Lord is about to give the world an incredible sign, one that's not easily missed. In two days, hundreds of millions of Catholics worldwide will be walking around with an ashen sign of the cross drawn on their foreheads. No one will be able to avoid this sign.

The only question is: Will people of "this age" who are seeking a sign (Mk 8:12) be so "blinded by the god of" this age (2 Cor 4:4), the secular culture which denies the power of God, that they miss the sign paraded in front of them all day? In "this age," many people have signs on their bodies. People are walking advertisements as they take pride in wearing clothes and shoes with the brand name displayed for all to see. Others wear their signs and messages in the form of "body art" in which tattoos cover nearly every exposed inch of skin for people to read.

Still others use their bodies to glorify God (1 Cor 6:20) as signs for righteousness and evangelization by wearing crosses or medals, dressing modestly, and wearing a cheerful face as a "sign" of a heart that loves God (Sir 13:25) .The oldies song says, "Sign, sign, everywhere a sign." As Lent begins, Jesus sends to the world walking signs bearing His message of crucified love on their foreheads. Each day, may we disciples of Christ be signposts who lead the world to Jesus.

*Jesus, use me as Your sign so that those who don't know You might be able to "read the signs of the times."

Saint Valentine of Rome

Saint Valentine of Rome, patron of lovers
.
Jacopo Bassano, 1575 Today, we celebrate the memorial of St. Valentine, patron of lovers, young people, and happy marriages.
.
St. Valentine was a priest from Rome who lived during the third century. During the reign of Emperor Claudius II, he was caught assisting Christians who were being persecuted. He was asked to renounce his faith but he remained steadfast and strong in his faith. He was arrested and imprisoned. The Emperor took a liking to Valentinus but when the priest tried to convert the Emperor, he was beaten with clubs. His Christian courage and faith made him receive the torture with humility and patience.
The Prefect of Rome, finding all tortures ineffectual, ordered the beheading of St. Valentine on February 14, 269. Over a century later, in 494 AD, February 14 was declared his feast day by Pope Gelasius.
Several miracles have been attributed to St. Valentine. One legend says that while in prison, he fell in love with the blind daughter of his jailer, whose sight he restored. On the eve of his death, it was said that he wrote a letter addressed to the jailer’s daughter, which was signed, "From your Valentine.’’
Stories about St. Valentine not only stress his heroism but also the romantic side of him. Today, people send candies, flowers, love letters, and gifts on February 14 in the name of St. Valentine. Married couples and lovers appeal to him for courage and strength in facing problems in their love life.
As we celebrate the memorial of St. Valentine, let us not only remember him as the patron of lovers. Let us be inspired by his strength in trying to defend his faith.

Dear Saint and glorious Martyr, who are so popular with lovers, be kind to those whom we love and to us. Teach us to love unselfishly and to find great joy in giving. Enable all true lovers to bring out the best in each other. Let them love each other in God and God in each other. Amen.

Spirito Santo-Come Holy Spirit

.
" Come Holy Spirit "

"Lord who hast mercy upon all, take away from me my sins, and mercifully, kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit. Take away from me this heart of stone, and give me a heart of flesh, a heart to love and adore Thee, a heart to delight in Thee, to follow and to enjoy Thee, for Christ's sake. Amen"
.
“Dear children! In this time, I call you all to pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit upon every baptized creature, so that the Holy Spirit may renew you all and lead you on the way of witnessing your faith – you and all those who are far from God and His love. I am with you and intercede for you before the Most High. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Love You Mom--I dreamed the impossible, to hear from my Son one last time.

"Love You, Mom"
I dreamed of the impossible—to hear from my son one last time

By Mona Robbins, Holton, Michigan

Three Mother's Day cards stood on the living-room console, meant to cheer me up, I suppose. Yet I couldn't help thinking, There should be four. I couldn't help thinking of my oldest, Dennis. Two years, now, since he died, yet my grief hadn't faded. If anything, it had gotten worse.
Dennis was my determined one. He ran his own business down in Texas. Even when he was diagnosed with MS in his 30s, he refused to let it get in his way. He went everywhere in his wheelchair, even designed a special one to travel with when he visited us in Michigan. You almost forgot Dennis had anything wrong with him, which is exactly what he wanted.
Then he was struck down by terminal cancer. Because of the MS, perhaps, it spread quickly. In those last days, we spoke on the phone when I couldn't be with him in Texas (Dennis could no longer travel and I was also caring for his father, who was seriously ailing). Dennis always managed to say one thing before he hung up, "Love you, Mom."
"I love you too, Denny," I said, though each time the words were harder to get out, because I knew it might be the last time I said them.
.
I thought a lot about his life in those last days, what a fine man he'd become, what a sweet little boy he had been, a boy who loved birthdays and balloons. Lord, how will I ever go on without hearing him say, "Love you, Mom?"
For the funeral the family gathered at our church in Michigan. At the end of the service we went out to the parking lot. Everybody was given a balloon. There were more than 100 of them—sky blue, hot pink, daffodil yellow, green like new grass
.
Our minister said a few words, then we released the balloons. I watched them float into the blustery March sky and disappear. Into the arms of God, like Denny, I tried telling myself. But as the months passed, my grief grew. If only I could let go of my son like I had that balloon.
For a week I kept those Mother's Day cards on the console, hoping they would comfort me. But, no, they made me miss Dennis all the more. Sunday I got up early. I took coffee to the dining room so I could look out the window to our backyard. The lilac bush was in full bloom and birds darted among the trees by our wishing well.
.
Something appeared in the sky. A shiny Mylar balloon. It slipped between the trees, hovered above the wishing well, then stopped at the bird feeders. There was no string holding it and the breeze was blowing in the opposite direction, yet it floated toward the house. From the window I could see all my favorite flowers printed on it—lilacs, violets and pansies. There was a message too, but I couldn't make it out. I went outside to get a closer look.
.
That balloon didn't come from out of nowhere. Nor did the sudden sense of peace and relief that enveloped me. I knew exactly where it came from. Printed boldly across the front of the balloon were the words "Love you, Mom."

Medjugorje Visionaries-Description of Hell

Description of hell - Medjugorje
Only four of the six visionaries saw hell. Our Lady gave Mirjana and Ivanka the choice whether or not to see hell and they chose against it. Ivan and Marija both saw a vision of hell and all that Ivan will state is that he prefers not to discuss it. Vicka and Jakov were physically taken to hell by Our Lady. The following, through several interviews of the visionaries, is a detailed description of hell.

Vicka: “We saw many people in hell. Many are there already, and many more will go there when they die…The Blessed Mother says that those people who are in hell are there because they chose to go there. They wanted to go to hell…We all know that there are persons on this earth who simply don’t admit that God exists, even though He helps them, gives them life and sun and rain and food. He always tries to nudge them onto the path of holiness. They just say they don’t believe, and they deny Him. They deny Him, even when it is time to die. And they continue to deny Him, after they are dead. It is their choice. It is their will that they go to hell. They choose hell.

Question: “Describe hell as you remember it.
Vicka: “In the center of this place is a great fire, like an ocean of raging flames. We could see people before they went into the fire, and then we could see them coming out of the fire. Before they go into the fire, they look like normal people. The more they are against God’s will, the deeper they enter into the fire, and the deeper they go, the more they rage against Him. When they come out of the fire, they don’t have human shape anymore; they are more like grotesque animals, but unlike anything on earth. It’s as if they were never human beings before…They were horrible. Ugly. Angry. And each was different; no two looked alike…When they came out, they were raging and smashing everything around and hissing and gnashing and screeching.

Question: “Has seeing hell changed how you pray?
Vicka: “”Oh, yes! Now I pray for the conversion of sinners! I know what awaits them if they refuse to convert.”
Vicka: “People turn away from God by choices they make. In this way they choose to enter the fire of hell where they burn away all connection to God. That’s why they can never get back to God. It takes God’s mercy to get back to Him. In hell, they no longer have access to God’s mercy…They choose to destroy their beauty and goodness. They choose to be ugly and horrible. People do this all the time. Each choice that is against God, God’s Commandments, God’s Will, singes God’s image in us…They become one with hell even while they have their body. At death they go on as they were when they had a body.”
The following is what Marija has shared about hell:

Question: “Marija, have you ever seen hell?
Marija: “Yes, it’s a large space with a big sea of fire in the middle. There are many people there. I particularly noticed a beautiful young girl. But when she came near the fire, she was no longer beautiful. She came out of the fire like an animal; she was no longer human. The Blessed Mother told me that God gives us all choices. Everyone responds to these choices. Everyone can choose if he wants to go to hell or not. Anyone who goes to hell chooses hell.

Question: “Marija, how and why does a soul choose hell for himself for all eternity?
Marija: “In the moment of death, God gives us the light to see ourselves as we really are. God gives freedom of choice to everybody during his life on earth. The one who lives in sin on earth can see what he has done and recognize himself as he really is. When he sees himself and his life, the only possible place for him is hell. He chooses hell, because that is what he is. That is where he fits. It is his own wish. God does not make the choice. God condemns no one. We condemn ourselves. Every individual has free choice. God gave us freedom.

Question: “Marija, what about people who grow up spiritually deceived, people who have been told that God does not exist, that there is no God?
Marija: “People, as they grow up, can think. Everyone knows and can recognize what is good and what is bad by the time they grow up. God gives us freedom of choice. We can choose good or bad. Everybody chooses here in this life whether he goes to Heaven or hell.

Question: “How do we choose Heaven or hell or Purgatory for ourselves?
Marija: “At the moment of death, God gives everyone the grace to see his whole life, to see what he has done, to recognize the results of his choices on earth. And each person, when he sees himself in the divine light of reality, chooses for himself where he belongs. Every individual chooses for himself what he personally deserves for all eternity.

The Charismatic Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Charismatic Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Prophecy Deliverance Tongues Teaching Healing - Miracles Discernment Apparitions Messages
Overview
Besides the seven gifts found to perfection in Christ and which everyone who is baptised possesses in different degree for his own sanctification, there are also spiritual gifts for the edification and sanctification of the whole Church.
These gifts are received for the purpose of helping others, they are supernatural gifts that help the faith of those who are benefited by them, usually not the person who receives them but the person or persons affected by them.
For example Prophecy is the highest of these gifts, it has the power to convince others that what is being said is truly the Word of God, it is not so much prophesying coming events, but expanding the Holy Scriptures with Wisdom that touches the heart of those who listen.
The gifts of healing and miracles, are a response of God to the prayers of intercession and while they heal one person, others become convinced that the Lord is truly there in the prayer group, and encourages to pray for healing.
These gifts can be received when a person receives the experience of the Baptism of the Spirit; an experience which is not another baptism, but a very strong physical and spiritual confirmation of the Holy Spirit. The person must be a very strong believer of the Words of Christ and must have repented of his sins with true sorrow and contrition.
Normally this experience is received through the laying of the hands by one who has received the Holy Spirit anointing, we are supposed to receive this experience in the Sacrament of Confirmation, but that is not normally the case. The anointed person lays hands on a person who is repenting of his sins and surrendering himself of herself to the action of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit responds to the purity of intention of the ones involved. It is common to see people responding with tears in their eyes, feelings of joy, speaking in tongues and being slain in the Spirit.
Those who receive this experience of the Holy Spirit become thirsty for God. They continue to attend prayer meetings, where they begin to get involved in preaching the gospel, praying over the sick and committing themselves to the Work of God.
The Spiritual gifts were present in the early Church as we learn from St. Paul [Romans 12:4-13] and then have manifested at other times to the saints and to those who seek God.
Nowadays, we are experiencing an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in fulfilment of the prophecies of the Old Testament. [Joel 2:28]
Prophecy
To prophecy means to speak in the name of the Lord, in other words it means to speak God's Word to others, namely the Gospel. Every one who is baptised is called to be a witness of Christ by word and action. John Paul II is the prophet of our times, He speaks the Word of God in all his encyclicals the same as all the other popes.
Bishops and priests also receive this gift, although not all of them open themselves to the influence of the Holy Spirit, since when speaking in prophecy one is the instrument of God, but some actually having the opportunity to prophesy become obstacles of the message of God.
As a gift from the Holy Spirit, prophecy is given as a message of the Lord for His people. The person receives an interior locution, a very strong desire to say what is given to Him and the words just come [Jeremiah 20:9].
There is nothing to be revealed since all revelation has been given to us through the Holy Scriptures, so prophecy is a sign from God that He is present in the prayer group or the Church assembly.
Most prophecy is heard in Charismatic groups, since many other groups and apostolates in the Church reject the approach of the Charismatic movement.
However not all Charismatic groups are totally acceptable since some tend to deviate from the teachings of the Church, and neglect the Sacraments, specially Confession before the priest, some others neglect the attention that is due to Mary the Mother of God, therefore they dedicate themselves to the study of the Holy Scriptures and in a way they become very much like Pentecostals.
We must remember that the first Christian and Charismatic was Our Lady, because She was totally anointed with the Holy Spirit, in such a way that She bore in her womb the Incarnate Word of God, Our Lord Jesus Christ, She spent thirty years of the private life of Jesus in His company and She went all the way to the holy mountain of Calvary to offer her Isaac to the Lord in sacrifice. She offered the true lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world; and that, makes Her the mother of our faith. If we can not find place for Our Lady in Charismatic prayer meetings, then we are not dealing there with the Holy Spirit.
So future Charismatics: Beware ! - Remember, the Holy Spirit is found where Mary is found. If they don't pray the Rosary in your Charismatic prayer group, be sure of suggesting how important it is to be in the company of Our Lady like the Apostles on the day of Pentecost.
Deliverance
In my name they will cast out devils, they will speak in tongues ..etc [Mark 16:17], these are signs that accompany the believers.
People do not believe in evil spirits any more, they laugh about the idea of the devil, they accept the evil in the world and they don't reject it. So in a way to be able to deliver evil spirits one must believe that they exist, and one must have a very strong conviction in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Unless you believe that the Spirit of the Lord is upon you, and unless you are in a state of Grace, do not dare to rebuke evil spirits from another person, in fact if you try, you will end up having a terrible experience if the person is really possessed. Officially the Church only grants permission to exorcise to certain gifted priests.
According to the Words of Christ, we must truly believe to be able to receive that power of God to cast out devils, to heal, to perform miracles etc [Mark 16:17-20]. We must believe in the Holy Spirit as the Creed says: I believe in the Holy Spirit, that means I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, I believe that I am a temple of the Holy Spirit and that I have been commissioned to bring the Presence of God to others.
Evil Spirits will leave at the command of one who is anointed with the Holy Spirit. There will be signs to confirm that the success of the exorcism has taken place.

Medjugorje Visionary Marija and Mystical Experiences.

The following is a story Marija told:

“I was praying in my room one morning when suddenly I had a vision of a white flower of such beauty as I have never seen before. It then wilted and drooped as if dead. I felt a deep sadness, because this flower had such beauty. Suddenly I saw a large drop above the flower which then fell directly on the head of the drooping flower. It then gradually opened up, radiating its former beauty. The flower then disappeared. I thought about it but then finished praying.
Later, during an apparition on Apparition Mountain, I asked Our Lady about the vision. Our Lady told me:
“The flower was the image of man’s soul. It flowers and opens out in the grace of God. But when man sins, the soul withers and wilts. The drop is the symbol of God’s grace. The soul wilting in sin will blossom out with the grace through Confession and true repentance.”
“The Sacrament of Confession should be lived in the joy of an encounter with God.”

Cardinal Schonborn, if it were not for Medjugorje our Seminaries would be empty.

Cardinal Schonborn has frequently, forthrightly, and now almost famously said "if it were not for Medjugorje our Seminaries would be empty. Half our new priests come to us directly or indirectly because of Medjugorje"

He has also spoken of the "great fruits" of Medjugorje and in his answer to the earnest young lady's question this afternoon he mentioned, not once but twice, how he sees that Medjugorje brings young people back to the Church.

So now we ask is Cardinal Schonborn hinting that the solution to the dire state of Christianity in Europe is perhaps found in Medjugorje. Is His eminence subtly encouraging us to look to Our Blessed Mother for guidance in these uncertain times and to look to Her for direction as She points us to the Way.

Is Cardinal Schonborn suggesting, perhaps not in his words but maybe in his heart that Medjugorje is, as some have said, "The Hope of the World?"

Haiti, Crucifix Remains

A walk through destroyed Sacred Heart Parish seems mighty eerie

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Sacred Heart Parish in the middle of Port-au-Prince is a must-see stop for Catholics visiting Haiti. Built in 1905, the historic church in the Turgeau neighborhood was a favorite for average Catholics and top church officials alike.
It still is, but not because of its beauty or its tradition. Now people stop to see how badly the Jan. 12 earthquake shook the church to pieces.
Debris is stacked at least 15 feet high at the main entrance. Part of a steeple blocks the sidewalk and part of the street. A 20-foot tall crucifix in the corner of the church lot faces and remains largely undamaged, still announcing to all that this is the site of a once-beautiful church.
Behind the church, a wall has toppled backward into what looks like a courtyard, exposing a triangle-shaped interior wall, which formed the backdrop to the main altar. Looking at the same wall from inside the destroyed structure, it still holds a modern crucifix. Below the image of the crucified Christ the tabernacle sits undamaged. A few feet away is the main altar, itself undamaged save for a fine coating of dust.
Walking inside what’s left of the church today seems eerie. A pile of bricks has forced open a set of side doors. Ceramic tiles and plaster ornaments cover the entryway and much of the aisles. The parish’s Nativity display had been toppled as well.

A thick layer of powdery white dust covered everything and made the floor slippery. The coat of dust reminds the visitor of the dust that coated desktops and fine china in the homes of people blocks away from the World Trade Center after the disaster of Sept. 11, 2001.
Pews were scattered about. Three ladies’ purses, their contents scattered, rested on one of the pews in the middle of the church. A pair of ladies shoes remained on the floor near the front entrance. The stench of death emanated from the debris pile that blocked the main door. Surely the women who tried to flee as they prayed late in the afternoon remained there.
Surprisingly, not everything was destroyed. Several beautiful stained glass windows remained in place. A few Stations of the Cross still hung on the walls, needing only a good cleaning. The pews probably can be used in another church.
But Sacred Heart Church, as thousands of faithful Catholics knew it, is no more.

Our Lady's Medjugorje message to Mirjana of Feburary 2, 2010

Dear children, with motherly love, today I call you to be a lighthouse to all souls who wander in the darkness of ignorance of God’s love. That you may shine all the brighter and draw all the more souls, do not permit the untruths which come out of your mouth to silence your conscience. Be perfect. I am leading you with my motherly hand – a hand of love. Thank you. February 2, 2010
